ISA Chair J O'Horo & Timmy
Timmy’s choice of Stallions reflects his great knowledge of the Irish Draught; as all of them went on to make very important contributions to the breed. Timmy is also a very accomplished breeder and a renowned international judge of Irish Draughts. He bred Warren Lass who won the Greenvale championship in Millstreet in 1982 and was the dam of the RID Stallion, Sillot Hill. Timmy bred two RID Stallions, Crannagh Hero and Merrymate, from his mare Silver Queen.

Crannagh Hero
In recent years, Timmy has been most famous in Irish Draught circles as the breeder of Crannagh Hero who has become one of the most prolific Irish Draught sires of show winners and performance horses in the country. Crannagh Hero, who stands with Francis Healy in Birdhill, Co.Tipperary, has sired no less than four Roscommon All Ireland Irish Draught Yearling Champions. He is the sire of Kilountain Ginger, the 2008 RDS Champion Irish Draught mare, owned by Denis Dullea from Bandon in Co. Cork, and bred by 2009 Hall of Fame winner, Eddie Murphy from Charlestown Co. Mayo. His first Stallion son, The Swarty Hero, was approved as Class 1 Irish Draught in April 2010. Crannagh Hero’s show jumping progeny include the European Young Riders Championship Team horse, Killard Horizon, as well as Kilconnell Hero and Nenagh, both of whom are consistent winners in the UK and Europe.
