Launch of Irish Horse Gateway Performance Championship:
The launch took place at Thomastown Show, County Kilkenny on Sunday 30th April of the very popular Performance Irish Draught Championship. The national show committee were delighted to announce that Irish Horse Gateway is sponsoring this class again this year at the IDHBA National show. There are fourteen qualifiers taking place all over Ireland for this championship that is open to pure-bred Irish Draught mares, geldings and stallions 4 years old and upwards. With a generous prize fund of €950, prizes include €100 for the winning breeder, €100 for the highest placed 4yo and prize money from €250 to €50 for the first 6 horses in the ribbons. Speaking at the launch of this year's championship in Thomastown Show, Ms Elaine Hatton Director of Marketing in HSI and of Irish Horse Gateway said they were delighted to support this class again this year. Ms Hatton said the class is a great platform to show-case our Irish Draughts and promote them nationally. According to Ms Hatton there they are seeing an increasing demand through Irish Horse Gateway for nicely produced Irish Draughts. A full list of shows holding qualifiers this year can be found here.
New on the list of qualifiers this year is the Laois Branch Show on the 2nd July in Stradbally Hall and the Tattersalls July Show on the 22nd July.
