The Association

The Irish Draught Horse Breeders Association was formed to preserve and promote the integrity of Irish Draught Breed.

The Association’s Members works throughout Ireland in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture Fisheries & Marine, and Horse Sport Ireland, in creating the atmosphere for the protection of this indigenous species.

In this work the Association arranges for Setting the Standards for Judging. IDHBA Judges undergo a rigorous assessment & training period.

The assessment & Grading of Irish Draught Stallions & Mares Regular assessments & Scoring is carried out to ensure that only the best in breed is assessed for future breeding purposes.

Organising Irish Draught Shows involving Judging & Competitions, throughout Ireland via its Branch network
